SAN FRANCISCO, CA — What happens when
the Most Beautiful Woman in the World marries the Bravest Prince
in the World—and he turns out to be a son of a bitch? Fencing,
Fighting, True Love, Strong Hate, Harsh Revenge, Lots of Bad Men,
Lots of Good Men, Some Beautiful Women, Beasties Monstrous and Gentle,
Some Swell Escapes and Captures, Death, Lies, Truth and a little
Sex abound in PRINCESS BRIDE the Play, Impossible Production’s
tribute to the hottest fairy tale ever written. All we need is a
Miracle.
The impossibly lovely Buttercup falls in love with Westley, a poor
perfect farm boy who dies at the hands of the Dread Pirate Roberts.
The fabled hunter, Prince Humperdinck, convinces Buttercup to marry
him, but not before the land’s most notorious criminal ensemble,
Vizzini the Sicillian, Fezzik the giant and Inigo the fencer, kidnap
her—with the mysterious Man in Black hot on their trail. They
face the Cliffs of Insanity, traverse the Fire Swamp, rage against
the Machine and go to the Chapel of Love; but they’ll need
a Miracle before this inconceivable epic of passions ends happily
ever after. PRINCESS BRIDE: the Play is inspired by the
classic tale of high adventure and true romance by William Goldman.
PRINCESS BRIDE: the Play is extended four shows in February
4, 6, 11, and 12, 2005; shows are Friday and Saturday at 8pm and
Sunday @ 4pm. The Dark Room is at 2263 Mission Street, SF, between
18th and 19th. For more details, check www.darkroomsf.com.
PRINCESS BRIDE: the Play is an Impossible Production, directed
by Cameron Eng & Jim Fourniadis and produced by Erin Ohanneson
& Cameron Eng, and stars Don Wood, Nancy Bower, Josh Lenn, John
Filgas, Mark Para, Cameron Eng, Jim Fourniadis, Seanetta, Laura
Drus, and introducing Patrick Biggs.

IMPOSSIBLE PRODUCTIONS, and
our new home The
Dark Room, is a comfortable place for anyone to come to when
they have ideas—big or small—and nowhere to realize
them. We're a tad more off-beat than community theatre and a skosh
more accessible than many artist cooperatives. We welcome both high
concepts and low brow sensibilities; we try hard to not to take
ourselves too seriously and invite you to do the same. Come join
us for an hour or two and forget for a minute how troublesome the
world can be. We're saving a seat for you.
CAMERON
ENG
director, producer, Inigo
December 2004 marks Cameron’s one year anniversary of his
induction into Impossible Production and the most memorable year
of his life. He’s helped bring you KLUBSTiTUTE
KOLLECTiVE’s annual Faux Queen Pageant and IP’s
black box versions of Hitchhiker’s
Guide to the Galaxy, Twilight
Zone and his beloved, high-school pipe-dream CLUE.
He has nothing but complete adoration for IP team and the countless
others who have put their heart into this endeavor. Most of all,
he’d like to thank Terrance Alan for being both his True Love
and a Miracle.
ERIN
OHANNESON
producer, art director, costume designer
Having worked in the film industry and on Broadway as a Set Decorator,
Prop Master and sometimes Costumer, she has had the joy of doing
many humiliating things in the name of art. Her most recent work
can be seen in the feature film, The
Station Agent, where she did both props and sets...and
was thrilled to find they spelled her name correctly in the credits.
On Broadway she ironed shirts and washed underwear for such shows
as Oklahoma, Movin'
Out and the triple Tony winner, Urinetown,
The Musical. Ask her if you want to hear details and amusing
anecdotes from her past. Since moving back to the Bay Area, she
has become smitten with Jim Fourniadis and done several other projects
with him including Dr. Strangelove: the Play and The
Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy: the Play. Opening The
Dark Room Theater has been LOTS of very hard, dirty work...but it's
been worth it. She and Jim started Impossible Productions because
it feels like together we can do almost anything. The future looks
bright. Sigh...
JIM
FOURNIADIS
director, sound designer, Fezzik
Jim Fourniadis spends his time serenading his sweetheart Erin, feeding
the Darkroom cat: Chicken, updating the website, building and rebuilding
the crumbling infrastructure, fixing and cursing out the mischievous
computers, listening to hordes of helpful, well meaning advice and
desperately finding some spare time to direct plays. When he's not
busy doing that, he continues work on his long term project: a cure
for stupididty. Please send donations to www.redstates.com.
DON
WOOD
Grandfather
Don has been a Bay Area actor for 20 years and early member of Bindlestiff
Theatre Company and Paducah Mining Company. Don has been recently
been seen as Tracy Chapman in Pipe
Dreams and Paper Trails at Bindlestiff and Reginald Denny
in Toni Press-Coffman's Trucker Rhapsody and Ehrlend Swift
in E.Hunter Spreen's 611 $upreme at Exit Theatre. Two months
ago in NYC, he was Dads in a play never staged before called A-21,
a translation of Plautus's The Rope by poet Louis Zukofsky.
(Costumes by Erin OHanneson!) Film and TV credits include playing
Inmate #1 on Fox TV's Americas
Most Wanted: Escape From Alcatraz and Spool in the independent
feature Goodbye
Guy Guy.
NANCY
BOWER
Buttercup
Nancy is happy to be back at The Dark Room, working with Cameron,
Erin and Jim. She last had a blast playing Mrs. White in CLUE, also
at the D room. In Sept/Oct, in NY and SF, Nancy starred in a funky
poetic translation of Plautus's The Rope—playing
a shipwrecked-abducted-girl and horny-young-slave-man. This summer
she also wrapped up two independent films: Alice in Storageland
and The
Church of Fat Tony the Archangel. She's looking forward
to what's next? In the meantime, it's all about the Buttercup...
JOSH
LENN
Westley
Princess Bride was one of Josh’s favorite movies growing up,
so he’s very excited to be a part of this project, and to
work with such a fun and creative group of people. Recent shows
are A-21, Backyard Players, Getting Lucky, BoA
Festival, The Garden of Jezebel, Crowded
Fire. He spent the summer hosting a sports and adventure TV
show airing on CBS in the Central Coast. He wants to thanks his
True Love, Maria and the rest of his family and friends for all
your support.
JOHN
P. FILGAS
Prince Humperdinck
John has been doing theater for almost 38 years. After performing
21 musical and several non-musical shows, he moved to San Francisco
and attended ACT, graduating in Dec ’93. He has performed
in over 200 improvisation shows. He has worked with Church of the
Moment, BATS workshop, Improv Works, Dojo Fabuloso, and All-Out
Cast, among others. Presently, he is working with the Mirth Makers
and the SF Improvisation Co-op. PB is his first scripted show in
10 years.
MARK
PARA
Count Rugen
Mark is pleased as all get-out to be doing
his first non-musical alongside such talented folks as to be found
in this amazing production. Mark comes from modest musical theatre
roots and finds himself enjoying his first villainous stage role...(well,
perhaps too much--but don't tell him we said that). Mark would like
to dedicate his performace to amazing friends and family, to Cameron
Eng (thank you!), and the memory of Michael Ballou.
SEANETTA
a Viking, a Gorilla, Vizzini, the Albino
Seanetta is both honored & proud to grace the boards of the
Darkroom, her home away from home. An extended & deserving thank-you
to Cammy, Erin, Jim, ad naseau, (yes, Chicken, this includes you).
With this production, it appears as if the curse of “box office
poison" has been lifted. Many years ago, in a land far away,
a wee li'l seanetta was attending mime school. There, an evil clown
instructor placed a hex upon her head. From this moment on, she
would be unable to maintain the good graces of any production company
she chose to act with. This held true for numerous ensembles, (not
limited to the following): The Sick N' Twisted Players, The SF Buffoons,
The Thunderbird Theater Co. et al. Now with the back to back roles
of the odious Mr. Toad, (Zippy) & effeminate Mr. Green, (Clue:
the Play) under her belt, Seanetta is convinced the role of Vizzini
the Sicillian, will set her free. Three is the magic number. Tonight,
dear audience member, you are about to witness true theatrical magic.
Believe.
LAURA
DRUS
Eva, a Farm Girl, a Lackey, a Booing Ancient,
Valerie
Laura holds a BA in Theater Arts and a Graduate Certificate from
UC Santa Cruz. This is her first production in San Francisco, and
she is thrilled to be part of the cast of the Princess Bride. When
she’s not onstage doing funny voices, she can be found turning
people to goo on her massage table, wrangling her four cats, professing
love for her partner Micharel, and spreading mischief and mayhem
to everyone she meets.
JAMES
PATRICK BIGGS
Aluthra, an R.O.U.S, Yellin the Castellan,
Miracle Max, the archdean Priest
Twenty-three years old and he's never acted
before--but now that he's gotten a taste for the theather, Look
out World!! From Arizona, film student at the Academy of Art University
where he hopes to pursue a lucrative career in producing and directing.
MELINDA
ADAMS
stage manager, superhero
Melinda came to San Francisco from New Orleans in 1988 to study
Communications Arts/ Broadcasting and just fell in love with the
arts scene in SF. Since 1988, she has worked a bit in radio, television,
theater, publications, and series of short and odd jobs. She has
done such things as been a hostess for Popcorn
Anti Theater, made a documentary Why Should I Live?
for the 72 hour project, done some an erotica writing for insidebay.com,
been a board member of Footloose, and run independent artist how
to workshop series and a Rough Cut Film Festival. One of her true
loves is event producing and that Melinda has shown this in event
assistance for the Sisters
of Perpetual Indulgence, drag queen and drag king groups, burlesque
troupes, sex workers, and underground art. She has produced and
stage managed for over 100 events and mothered and nagged 1,000s
of artist. She has never meet a creative person she didn't like.
TY
MCKENZIE
lighting designer and op
We last left Ty at Spanganga where she was gettin’
down and dirty in the now historical Blue Room. Her relentless desire
to overextend herself has brought her to The Dark Room where she
has taken on the reoccurring role of Technical/Light Director. As
usual, this relationship is not exclusive and she would love to
illuminate your world sometime soon.
BETH
ORR
sound tech
Beth moved 2642 miles to California from her comfortable life in
Michigan to be involved in theatre. She does not believe in miracles.
MR.
ANTHONY
wig styling
Mr. Anthony is thrilled to be involved with
such a talented cast and fun story. Past projects include countless
magazine layouts, fashion shows, television and film and a whole
lotta glamour for his many drag and tranny friends. A swimsuit model
that solves small crimes, he can be found at Glamarama
hair salon Tuesdays through Saturdays.
SPECIAL THANKS
to the Inigo-approved Golden Gate Fencing Center for their pointed
contributions (sign up for a class at at www.gofencing.com!)
And a heartfelt thank you to the lovelies for their fantastic help:
the uber-stylish Aimee, the helpful Emily, the bubbly Rhiannon,
the passionately fashionable Heather McAllister, the graceful Francine,
the talented Timothy Brown, the enchanting Jen Surprise, the wigged
out Glamarama,
Tracy (for her gorillific hirsuite suit), the creative folk at General
Bead and the uberhandy Micharel. Thanks for being
our Miracle.

KIDNEY
PUNCH
We are very fortunate to have John P.
Filgas in our cast as our resident pompous ass, Prince Humperdinck.
He is a kidney dialysis patient and would like to encourage
other patients by showing them they can be as (hyper) active
as he is.
First Kidney Failure —
10/83
First Transplant —
11/21/85, 7:30pm, and it lasted until 9/11/01
Re-Started Dialysis —
9/12/01
Projected Second Transplant
—
8/06
“I do my own treatments
at home. I “hook up” right before bed and I’m
on the machine for 8.5 hours. There is always 0.5 gallons
(2 litres) of dialysis cleaning fluid in me. By changing this
fluid, my body is cleansed. This is much better for me than
going to a clinic 3 or 4 times a wekk for 4 hours a crack.
After a long period of re-adjustment, I feel much better.
I also take medication every day.” — John
